Dream Academy USA was founded to enable adults to achieve their dreams by providing a flexible and affordable pathway to complete their high school education. Our journey began in Richmond, where we recognized the pressing need for accessible online education solutions tailored to the unique challenges faced by working adults. We have since expanded our reach to a national audience across the country. Most of the people who enroll currently come from Richmond, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Lynchburg, Winchester, Hampton, Newport News, Petersburg, and Williamsburg. However, as an online school, Dream Academy USA can serve anyone seeking a high school diploma. Dr. Henry is a powerhouse in education, starting her career as a clerical secretary in Richmond Public Schools and swiftly moving to the corporate realm with Ethyl Corporation. While excelling in the corporate sector, she ambitiously pursued her Bachelor's Degree in Business Education at Virginia State University. Armed with her Business Degree, she began her teaching journey in 1992, quickly advancing to Cooperative Office Education Coordinator and Department Chair for Richmond Public Schools over the next 12 years. In 2002, she earned a Master's in Business Education and Administration Supervision, propelling her to the role of assistant principal at the high school level. Observing the dropout rates, she took the initiative, working with students after school to ensure they achieved their high school diplomas, all while earning her Doctorate. In 2008, she proudly received her Doctoral Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Education Leadership. Over the past eight years, she has excelled as an adjunct associate professor at Virginia State University and continues to inspire as Director of the school.
In 2010, she founded Dream Academy Richmond, a transformative institution for students disenchanted with traditional schooling. By leveraging an approved curriculum from the Virginia Department of Education, she crafted a program tailored for adults to earn a high school diploma instead of a GED. This initiative has empowered countless adults to realize their dreams by completing the requirements to secure a high school diploma.
